By registering a school, creating an account, or using any part of the BentoSMS platform ('the Service'), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including school owners, administrators, teachers, students, non-teaching staff, and developers accessing the Service on behalf of a registered school.
BentoSMS is a cloud-based school management system designed to help Nigerian secondary schools manage staff, students, academic records, fees, attendance, timetables, and parent communication. The Service is provided on a subscription basis. Specific features and pricing are outlined during registration and may change from time to time.
Each user account is personal and must not be shared. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when registering. BentoSMS reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information or that are used in violation of these Terms.
All data entered into BentoSMS by or on behalf of a registered school (including student records, staff information, academic results, and financial data) remains the property of that school. Bento Development does not claim ownership over school-specific data. Schools grant BentoSMS a limited licence to store, process, and display their data solely for the purpose of operating and delivering the Service.
You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the platform. Automated scraping, reverse engineering, or unauthorised access to backend systems is strictly prohibited. You are responsible for ensuring that all staff and student data entered is accurate and kept up to date, and for obtaining any necessary consent from students, parents, or guardians before entering personal data.
BentoSMS offers flexible pricing: ₦10,000 per term or ₦30,000 per session. Payments are processed through PixPay and Flutterwave. You authorize these payment processors to charge your account on a recurring basis. Failure to pay may result in account suspension. Refunds are not provided for partial months or terms.
BentoSMS is provided 'as is' and 'as available'. We strive for 99% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We reserve the right to perform maintenance or updates that may temporarily disable access to the Service. Critical maintenance will be announced in advance when possible.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bento Development shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. This includes lost data, lost revenue, or business interruption.
Either party may terminate the agreement at any time. Schools may delete their account from within the platform settings. Bento Development may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or remain inactive for an extended period. Upon termination, you may request a full export of your school's data within 30 days. After this period, data may be permanently deleted.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email. The date below reflects when the Terms were last revised.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved under Nigerian jurisdiction.
