Terms and Conditions

By registering a school, creating an account, or using any part of the BentoSMS platform ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including school owners, administrators, teachers, students, non-teaching staff, and developers accessing the Service on behalf of a registered school.

Each user account is personal and must not be shared. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must provide accurate and complete information when registering. BentoSMS reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information or that are used in violation of these Terms.

You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the platform. Automated scraping, reverse engineering, or unauthorised access to backend systems is strictly prohibited.

BentoSMS collects and processes personal data (including names, email addresses, phone numbers, academic records, and payment information) solely to provide and improve the Service. We do not sell personal data to third parties.

Data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure hosted in compliance with applicable data protection regulations. We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure.

By using the Service, you consent to the collection and processing of personal data as described above. You may request access to or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at builtbybento@gmail.com.

All data entered into BentoSMS by or on behalf of a registered school (including student records, staff information, academic results, and financial data) remains the property of that school. Bento Development does not claim ownership over school-specific data.

Upon termination of your account, you may request a full export of your school's data within 30 days. After this period, data may be permanently deleted from our servers in accordance with our data retention policy.

Schools grant BentoSMS a limited licence to store, process, and display their data solely for the purpose of operating and delivering the Service.

You are responsible for:

• Ensuring that all staff and student data entered is accurate and kept up to date.
• Obtaining any necessary consent from students, parents, or guardians before entering personal data.
• Complying with applicable data protection laws in your country or jurisdiction.
• Using the Service only for legitimate school management purposes.
• Promptly notifying us of any unauthorised use of your account.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Bento Development does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bento Development expressly disclaims all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Bento Development shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

BentoSMS is under active development. Features may be added, modified, or removed at any time. We will endeavour to notify registered schools of significant changes via email or in-app notification.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. The date at the top of this page reflects when the Terms were last revised.

Either party may terminate the agreement at any time. Schools may delete their account from within the platform settings. Bento Development may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or remain inactive for an extended period.
